Petro

Petro is an extensive thesis research project by María Semidey on Taíno petroglyphs, consisting of a speculative alphabet, carved specimens, and a collection of complementary publications. This visual report looks to inform the reader on the material, textural, symbolic, and historic properties of these rock carvings, and therefore, provide a better appreciation for Bosiba.

The photographs were taken in January 2025 with a Canon 77D at El Centro Ceremonial Indígena de Caguana in Utuado, Puerto Rico. Petro, measuring 4.5” x 10”, is printed on grey 20lb stock and hand-bound.
